A little about me…To start, I am a born and raised Alaskan girl. I was born in Fairbanks, Alaska in 1977…WOW! That makes me OLD! But, only as old as I feel…and to be honest, I don’t feel that old. My parents moved to Alaska from California back in the mid 70’s, pregnant with my brother and moving in with my mother’s parents in Anchorage. My brother was born in Anchorage, in 1975, and eventually, my parents decided to move to Fairbanks, where I would be born and we would live until I was 10 and my brother, 13. My dad was a police officer with the City of Fairbanks, then eventually a private investigator. My mother, a secretary for insurance companies and attorneys for as long as I can remember. We moved to Soldotna, on the Kenai Peninsula when I was 10 years old and starting the fifth grad. My brother was 13 and starting his middle school years. As most kids are, I was scared of the move…would I make friends easily? Well, being who I was, I had no problems with this! My brother on the other hand, struggled. Now, let’s fast forward…I graduated high school and started my college career…as my mom said, I was the perpetual student. I loved school, and to this day, still do! I graduated with an Associates of Science degree working as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant…following years of changing my degree…I currently work in a pediatric clinic, loving my job! If you love children, love helping others, then pediatrics of some means is the way to go. I am married and have been happily married for nearly 18 years! My husband and I have two amazing children, both of which always keep us busy! Our daughter, Avery is 15 and our son, Nathan is 13.
We all love the great outdoors, preferring to explore anywhere we may be…fishing, hunting, hiking…even driving, riding, boating, we thoroughly enjoy and being in Alaska, we have so much to see and be thankful for!
In my blogs, I don’t plan to lure people into thinking my ways are the way to go, nor do I expect everyone to agree with me and my families ways. My plan is to let people into my life and learn that life is good, no matter what it hands to us…life isn’t always fair, nor does it always go the way that we expect it to…what it DOES do is teach us. Teaches us about ourselves…what we can accomplish, survive, change…it allows us to grow…
